Morpheus8 FAQ
-
What is Morpheus8 Microneedling?
Morpheus8 is an advanced microneedling treatment that combines fractional skin resurfacing with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production. It creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin while RF energy penetrates deeper layers, tightening and smoothing wrinkles on both face and body. This innovative approach to skin rejuvenation uses thin needles to deliver energy deep into the dermis, promoting tissue regeneration.

Why Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radio frequency for a “double whammy” in skin rejuvenation and tightening. The microneedles cause controlled injury to form new collagen and elastin, while the radio frequency wave also stimulates collagen and elastin formation. This dual-action approach makes it more effective than traditional microneedling or topical treatments alone.
-
When will I see results from a Mopheus8 Microneedling treatment?
Results develop over time. Skin texture and tone improve within days, with tightening apparent after about 3 weeks. Most apparent results are seen 3 months after treatment as your body’s natural healing process continues.
It’s best to undergo 2-3 treatments for desired results, with each treatment building upon the last for optimal skin regeneration.
-
How many treatments would I need?
A series of 3 Morpheus8 treatments, spaced 6 weeks apart, gives the best results. Treatments can be stacked as close as 1 month apart, with results compounding.
The number of treatments may vary based on individual skin concerns and aesthetic goals.
-
How often do I need to come in for a maintenance treatment?
Typically, clients return in 12-18 months for a maintenance treatment. However, this can vary depending on the individual’s skin condition, age, and lifestyle factors.
Regular consultations with your aesthetics provider can help determine the best maintenance schedule.
-
Can Morpheus8 be used in combination with other treatments?
Yes, it can be combined with treatments like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), dermal fillers, neurotoxins (e.g., Botox), chemical peels, and laser treatments for enhanced results.
- Morpheus8 + PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma): PRP can be applied topically or injected after a Morpheus8 treatment, sometimes referred to as a “Vampire facial,” for accelerated healing and more dramatic results. The growth factors in PRP may work synergistically with the micro-injuries created by Morpheus8 to further stimulate skin rejuvenation.
- Morpheus8 + Dermal Fillers: Combining Morpheus8 with hyaluronic acid fillers can address both skin texture and volume loss for more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
- Morpheus8 + Neurotoxins (e.g., Botox): This combination can improve both skin texture and dynamic wrinkles.
- Morpheus8 + Chemical Peels: A light chemical peel a few weeks after Morpheus8 may enhance overall skin texture and tone.
- Morpheus8 + Laser Treatments: Combining Morpheus8 with certain laser treatments can target different skin layers for more dramatic results.
It’s important to note that the timing and specific combination of treatments should be determined by our qualified providers based on individual patient needs and goals.

What is the downtime with Morpheus8?
After your Morpheus8 treatment, you can expect swelling, redness and possibly some bruising as it is causing a controlled injury to get your collagen and elastin jump started again. This will last about 3-5 days.
For the first 3 days, you will be instructed on what products to apply to the treated area.
After 3 days, you can apply camouflage make-up.
Day 4-5 you will have slightly flakey skin.
After 5-7 days, your skin is looking back to normal.
You can go back to work the day after the procedure, but frequently clients who work come in on Thursday evening or Friday and recover without make-up over the weekend. By Monday, you are good to go!
Those who don’t work, often have Morpheus8 performed on Monday and recover during the week, so they are ready to go on the weekend!
-
Is Morpheus8 suitable for all skin types and concerns?
Morpheus8 is versatile and can address a wide range of skin concerns including aging, acne scars, sun damage, and skin laxity. It’s safe for most skin types and tones, making it a popular choice in medical spas and dermatology clinics.
However, a consultation with a skincare professional is crucial to determine if it’s the right treatment for your specific needs.
-
How does Morpheus8 compare to other skin treatments?
Compared to creams, serums, and other topical treatments, Morpheus8 offers deeper penetration and more significant results. It’s less invasive than surgical options, with shorter downtime.
The combination of microneedling and RF energy makes it more effective than either treatment alone for issues like skin tightening and wrinkle reduction.
-
What areas can be treated with Morpheus8 Microneedling?
Morpheus8 is effective on various body areas, including the face (especially around the eyes and brows), neck, décolletage, arms, abdomen, and thighs.
It’s particularly useful for areas that show signs of aging or have experienced skin damage.
-
How should I prepare for a Morpheus8 Microneedling Treatment?
Your provider will give you specific instructions, but generally, you should avoid sun exposure, certain skincare products, and blood-thinning medications before treatment.
It’s also important to come to your appointment with clean, makeup-free skin.
-
How does Morpheus8 help with acne and acne scars?
Morpheus8 can be beneficial for both active acne and acne scars. The RF energy can help reduce oil production and kill acne-causing bacteria, while the microneedling aspect promotes skin healing and collagen production, which can improve the appearance of acne scars over time.
-
What can I expect during the healing process?
The healing process involves your skin’s natural regeneration mechanisms. You may experience some redness and swelling initially, followed by mild flaking as your skin renews itself.
It’s crucial to follow your provider’s post-treatment care instructions, which may include using specific medical-grade skincare products to support healing and enhance results.
-
Is the treatment comfortable?
Most patients find Morpheus8 treatments tolerable. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to ensure comfort. Some patients describe feeling a warm sensation or mild pressure during the treatment. The level of comfort can vary depending on the treatment area and individual pain tolerance.
