Microblading is a form of Semi Permanent Makeup using a nano stroke brow to insert pigment into the upper layers of skin – as opposed to a machine. Because the color is deposited closer to the surface of the skin, the hair strokes appear crisp and very fine. The effects last up to 18 months (depending on lifestyle), after which the pigment fades and will have to be touched up.

Microblading is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of his or her eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. Our Permanent cosmetic artist and the client will determine the best pigments color suited for the clients skin & skin undertones to match your eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are very realistic.

 How does Microblading work?

The pigment is applied with a specific manual tool that has a row of several fine tattoo needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. Crystal will choose needles and the blade type according to the technique and the skin type. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. A very natural result is achieved, as the hairs-strokes are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction.

Does it hurt?

We use a topical anesthetic Lidocain & Tetricain for numbing before and throughout the procedure for maximum comfort. Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but overall the pain is minimal.

How long does the appointment take?

A typical appointment lasts approx. 2 hours (This includes the consultation, drawing, numbing & tattoo time).

What is the healing process like?

Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. True reflection of healed color can only be assessed 4 weeks after treatment. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape/design will not be performed for a minimum of 4 weeks after initial treatment. It will go from too dark, to too light, to just right!

Immediately after the procedure, the pigment will appear very sharp and dark. This is because the pigment hasn’t fully absorbed into the skin yet. The color of the pigment will soften gradually

Once the healing of the skin starts taking place it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows.

Your eyebrows will be the lightest tones during days 10-20 because the color is absorbed in the deeper layers of the skin. Later skin cells push it back to the upper layers. Once the healing is completed, you will enjoy a pair of beautiful and natural looking eyebrows.

How much does microblading cost?

The consult fee is $50. A consultation is only  REQUIRED IF you have previous permanent brow cosmetics, if not, we can do the consult the day of the procedure. You may also book a consult if it makes you feel more comfortable to come speak and meet with Crystal and discuss the procedure prior to scheduling. If we decide that we can move forward with your new procedure, this $50 fee gets applied toward your brow procedure. If your previous brow work is not something Crystal is willing to work on, or if you decide not to move forward with your brow procedure, the $50 fee is paid for Crystals time.

The procedure including your consultation is $575.

How long will it last?

Depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you take care of it, your microblade brow should slowly fade over 9-18 months.

Permanent cosmetics do fade over time. The cosmetics implantation technique deposits color pigment into the upper layer of the skin.  It’s called permanent because it can’t be washed off & some of those pigment molecules stay in the skin forever. Unlike traditional tattoos performed on the body, permanent cosmetics professionals do not use traditional tattoo ink . Permanent cosmetics pigment has a larger molecule, is more delicate and designed to work with the skin’s undertones and to mimic hair. Every person’s skin is different in regarding pigment retention. Factors which effect longevity of permanent cosmetics are: color selected, age, thickness of skin, scarring of skin, use of skin care products, injectables, laser treatments, medication and sun exposure. You will need periodic refreshing of color, depending on how light the shade of implanted pigment, as well as factors mentioned above.
