What to Expect in Your First 90 Days on Our Medical Weight Loss Program
When you walk through our doors at Laguna Med Spa ready to start your weight loss journey, I want you to know exactly what’s ahead of you.
This isn’t a diet plan you’re left to figure out on your own, and it isn’t an app that pings you a reminder once a week.
It’s a medically supervised program, and I’m with you at every stage, from the very first conversation we have about your goals to the check-in three months from now where we look back at how far you’ve come.
Ninety days feels like a long time when you’re just getting started. It isn’t.
It’s the window where the real shift happens, where the plan we build together in your consultation turns into results you can actually feel.
Here’s what that looks like, stage by stage.
Before Day 1: Your Personalized Medical Weight Loss Consultation
Nothing about your program starts with a number on a chart. It starts with a conversation.
In your first visit, I sit down with you and go through your health history, your goals, and, just as important, what you’ve already tried.
Most of the people I see in this chair have attempted weight loss before, sometimes more than once, and I want to understand what worked, what didn’t, and why. That history shapes everything that comes next.
From there, we build a plan around you. That means your program, your dosage, and your pace, not a one-size-fits-all protocol pulled off a shelf.
You can read more about how our medical weight loss program works before your visit if you’d like a head start.
Month 1: Getting Your Footing
Your first GLP-1 injection happens right here with me, in-office, so you’re confident and comfortable before you ever do it on your own at home.
After that, it’s a weekly rhythm you’ll manage yourself, with me adjusting your GLP-1 dose along the way based on how your body responds.
This first month is your adjustment period, and I want to be upfront about what that can feel like.
Some patients notice mild nausea in the early weeks. Appetite drops, sometimes digestion feels a little different, and fatigue can show up while your body acclimates.
These effects are common, and for most people, they ease up as treatment continues. If something feels off, that’s exactly what our check-ins are for.
On the flip side, this is often when patients first notice the shift that brought them here in the first place: quieter food cravings, feeling satisfied with less, and a sense that food noise that used to run the show all day is finally turning down.
Physically, changes are usually still subtle at this stage, and that’s normal. Your body is adjusting to the medication before it starts making visible progress, and I’d rather you know that going in than wonder if something isn’t working.
Month 2: Building Real Momentum
By your second month, consistency starts compounding. The changes that felt subtle in month one become noticeable, clothes fitting differently, energy that doesn’t crash by mid-afternoon, a scale that’s moving in the right direction more weeks than not.
Your check-ins matter most here. This is when I’m watching closely for how you’re responding, catching early plateaus before they become discouraging, and fine-tuning your dose so your plan keeps working with your body instead of against it.
Every patient responds at their own pace, some people see faster movement early on, others build more gradually, and both are completely normal.
This is also usually when the mild early side effects fade for most patients, and the habits you’re building start to feel less like an adjustment and more like your new normal.
Meals feel more manageable, cravings that used to derail you are quieter, and the effort it takes to stay on track goes down even as your results keep going up.
Month 3: Meaningful, Cumulative Progress
By the time we reach your 90-day mark, most of my patients are well into meaningful, cumulative weight loss progress, not just on the scale, but everywhere else that matters.
That often shows up as clothes fitting looser, energy that feels more consistent day to day, and a level of confidence that’s been quietly building the whole time.
This is usually the point where the work you’ve put in for two straight months starts to feel undeniable.
It’s not just that the number on the scale has moved. It’s that the whole process feels more natural now, your weekly GLP-1 injection is routine, you know what to expect from your body, and you’ve built real evidence that this approach works for you specifically.
I want to be clear about something, though: day 90 isn’t a finish line. It’s a checkpoint.
Some patients are close to their goal weight by now; others still have meaningful ground to cover, and that’s exactly what the next phase of your program is for.
What matters most at month three isn’t a specific number. It’s that you have three months of consistent, steady proof that your plan is working.

What Comes After Your First 90 Days On Our Medical Weight Loss Program
Reaching a goal weight is a milestone, not an ending.
Once you’re there, or close to it, my focus shifts to helping you hold onto what you’ve built. That means supporting the habits that got you here and making sure your plan evolves into long-term maintenance instead of leaving you to figure that part out alone.
Some patients, once they’ve lost a significant amount of weight, notice their face looks a little more hollow or tired than they expected, that’s a normal side effect of fat loss, and it’s a conversation I have often.
When it comes up, we talk through options like Sculptra to help restore that volume gradually and naturally. It’s not something everyone needs, but it’s good to know it’s on the table if you do.
You’re Not Doing This Alone
If there’s one thing I want you to take from this, it’s that every stage of your first 90 days has a clinical professional in your corner, not just at your consultation, but at every single check-in in between.
Your plan will adjust as you do. That’s the whole point.
If you’re ready to find out what your own first 90 days could look like, I’d love to sit down with you and get started.
